I’m not a special fan of western, but True Grit is really an excellent movie !

A few words about the scenario: A rough U.S. marshal help a young woman to avenge the death of her father.

In fact the scenario is very good and the dialogs are really excellent ! A very big thank you to Joel Coen and Ethan Coen.

The actors: Jeff bridges and Matt Damon are really excellent with special mention for the brilliant delivery of Hailee Steinfeld !

As you can understand while reading this post, I really like this movie !

Terra Nova, season 1

This is another TV show: Terra Nova.

In a few words: we follow the adventures of a group left 85 million years back to give another chance to humanity. Of course, some bad people just want to take advantages of this… The show is centered on a family where the mother is a scientist and the father is a former cop.

This show is okay if you close your eyes on screenwriting shortcuts and clichés that are numerous enough.

They actors were not too bad even if they are not excellent too.

Anyway it seems, we will have only one season as this show did not have enough spectators !

The Shield

Here I’m talking about the entire TV show: The shield.

I’ve watched all the seven seasons and can not tell if there is one better then the others ! I think this show is totally amazing ! I can not understand why I did not watch it before…

In a few words for people who don’t know this show: We follow the story of a particular police team in Los Angeles. They want to fix criminality problem… But they have their own special way including their own interest !

During the seven season, we can see their slow descent into hell with a few twists that would suggest that upslope, without ever really get there.

The actors are excellent starting with Michael Chiklis. There is really of a lot of interesting characters, including their colleagues and families.

For the final words, I can say this is now one of my favorite cop TV show !

Back to normal life

Back to normal life… Almost in fact… I do not have all the strength in my left hand for the moment but I can use my computer, my PS3 and I’m back at work since last Monday.

I’ve watch a lot of TV show in the last few weeks, I will post some updates in the next few days !

No news since more than a week… Again !

Yes, after the right surgery for the right carpal tunnel…. I’ve done the left this time ! Another time 4 weeks to watch movies and TV shows ! And no PS3 of course…

I can write more posts in a few days…. I’ve already watched around fifteen movies and I’ve started watching The shield from season 1 !

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, season 11

TF1 has just started CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, season 11 a few weekd ago in France.

This new season seems to be very exciting with they two news “bad guys” ! I can not wait to see the other episodes !

Just one thing in my opinion, they did not really use the season ten cliffhanger in the beginning of the eleventh season.

The Adjustment Bureau

I’ve seen this movie: The Adjustment Bureau some days ago.

And this was a nice surprise ! The story is not too bad, The main actors: Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are ok in their characters. Of course, this is not the movie of 2011 but as I was not expecting much I had a nice surprise.

Just some words about the scenario: The love story of a young politician and a ballerina is disturb by a mysterious force.

A good film to watch and not just to spend the evening !

The artist

We have seen The artist last week, after the buzz about it.

I had a strange feeling about going a movie with no speech… And now, I have a confirmation ! This is really strange to watch a movie with only music and some text written sometimes. This is an U.F.O. among current productions ! But it is a good movie.

A good movie with good actors: Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo are really doing a good job. I do not say taht because I’m French, I think they are really good, they can pass emotions to us. I was also pleased to see again John Goodman !

This was a nice movie, a bit strange and I prefer to have speech in movies !

Logitech Harmony One

I’ve bought my Logitech Harmony One some weeks ago. What’s that ? This is an universal remote controller made by Logitech.

It took me time to have it working like I want… You need to configure all your devices then configure sequences to power on your home theater automatically for example. They call it “activities”, for example “watch a blu-ray”. You have to tell what devices you need to watch a blu-ray, then what settings you want and finally what devices you control with the button of the controller when your activity is ready.

If the remote controller does not know something, you just have to learn it with the original remote controller. And if the Harmony does not have a button, just create a “virtual button” on the touch screen.

It can not handle blue-tooth, so you have to buy an adapter for the PS3. In total, this is a bit expensive, but this remote controller is really amazing. Now i just have to click a button on the touch screen to watch a blu-ray and another button to power off everything !

So I’m very happy with it… In place of my six remote controllers.
